    Job Description:

    We're in need of an Oracle Developer (PL/SQL). This is a new and prominent position that will help design our road map as we continue our growth trajectory. This will be a hybrid hands on and leadership position that is responsible to develop, test, and deploy database solutions as required to meet our corporate objectives and deadlines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate and work with software engineers, quality assurance, infrastructure engineers, database engineers, business analysts and project managers to understand business needs.  
    • Responsible to help develop next generation software products for customer facing systems.
    • Provide timely response and resolutions for emergency issues as they arise.
    • Team player mentality, proactive and self-motivated.

    Experience:

    • 5 years experience with Oracle as a developer. 
    • Experience writing stored procedures, packages and functions using PL/SQL.
    • Ability to create and tune complex SQL statements.
    • Experience using TOAD, PL/SQL Developer, etc.
    • Must also be capable of working independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
    • Good work ethic and ability to work well under pressure
    • Ability to be a key contributor in a team-oriented environment.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL is a plus.

    Description

    The Utah Oracle Users Group is a not-for-profit group that conducts training on Oracle products for our members. Run by a volunteer board, UTOUG puts on one large conference each year, with smaller training sessions through out the remaining months.

    The bookkeeping position is a paid part-time position under the direction of the UTOUG Treasurer to help track income and expenses from annual membership dues and conferences/events. The expected time involvement is averages 10-15 hours per month, but can vary one time of year and number of events.

    Responsibilities

    1. Monitor the PayPal account and enter receipt of funds.

    2. Verify expense receipts and make reimbursements to board members or payments to vendors.

    3. Record all expenditures.

    4. Create manual checks as requested by the board.

    5. Review monthly profit and loss statements to check for accuracy.

    6. Balance the monthly bank statement.

    7. Check PO Box for any correspondence, at least twice a month.

    8. Prepare annual profit and loss statements for the CPA to do the tax filings.

    9. Other related assistance as requested by the board.

    Qualifications

    1. 3-4 years of bookkeeping experience

    2. Knowledge of Quickbooks Online is preferred

    3. Excellent written and oral communication skills

    4. Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Exce

    5. High degree of professionalism

    6. Highly self-motivated and directed

    7. Maintain high values of honesty, integrity, and responsibility, both personally and professionally

    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a senior level database engineer. Our team needs someone with a strong background in Oracle database administration. Any experience with bash scripting, database migrations, and database cloning would be highly valuable. Demonstrated abilities in PL/SQL development, data modeling, and SQL tuning are also desirable.

    Additional Essential Functions

    • Strong data modeling skills (relational and non-relational)
    • Strong SQL development skills with expertise in Oracle’s PL/SQL, SQL Server’s TSQL, SQL Server Integration Services, and noSQL
    • Work closely with Enterprise Architecture team, fellow database development staff, and the application development teams
    • Familiar with GIT, Bitbucket, and Flyway for SQL source control and deployment

    • 5+ years in a senior database development role

    GENERAL PURPOSE

     

    Responsible to own the full-life software development lifecycle (SDLC) of application and report development. Assist in gathering initial requirements, analysis and design, development, testing and documentation, and provide support after the deployment of applications and reports. Collaborate in designing and maintaining standards with the user interface and report presentation.


    MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Create applications and reports to integrate and automate education and management processes for schools and district level departments.
    • Assist in data analysis to help identify areas of improvement.
    • Attend meetings as required to collaborate with other departments.
    • Work with local and state entities in data reporting as needed.
    • Assist in maintaining the Student Information System as needed.
    • As a Senior level programmer, mentor and train as needed.
    • Report to the Chief Technical Officer on timelines and project updates.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

     

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 3 years related experience in applications programming and development.
    • Proficiency in Oracle Application Express (APEX) development tools.
    • Proficiency in creating database models/structures for OLAP and OLTP data systems.
    • Proficiency in Relational database, SQL and PL/SQL
    • Database and application development experience using packages, procedures, pipeline functions, materialized views, bulk collection, etc.
    • Experience using IDE program such as Toad, SQL Developer or SQLPlus.
    • Experience using statistical tools such as R is a plus.
    • Web based application development background including Javascript, JQuery, JSON, CSS, HTML.
    • Utilize PL/SQL stored procedures and functions within packages, triggers and libraries.
    • Ability to leverage Dynamic SQL, ref-cursors, bulk collection, explain plans, materialized views, and performance tuning as needed.
    • Written and verbal communications skills with employees, management, and local and state entities.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, maintain an attention to detail and accuracy, while working in a team or group environment.


    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    The job occasionally requires light physical exertion including walking, standing, motor vehicle operation and other forms of light physical activity. Work is carried out in an  greeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions and little or no unpleasant elements.
