We are fortunate to have Joe Thomas, Sr Director, Business Analytics at Oracle, joining us for our next BI SIG meeting. Joe will be giving an overview of the product direction for OBIEE, Big Data, Exalytics, and BI Apps. Be prepared to have Joe provide a complete view of Oracle’s strategy including some of the following new announcements:


1.       Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence Enterprise (OTBI-E)

a.       Visualize revealing insights driven through cross-source and in-depth analysis from various Lines of business (e.g. HR, Sales and Marketing.) 

2.       Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS)

a.       Quickly rely on Oracle’s complete computing stack in the Cloud with the new BI Cloud service. 

3.       Big Data Discovery

a.       The “visual face of Hadoop” - Capitalize on the power of Hadoop and Big Data by turning raw data into actionable business insight

Joe's Bio:

Joe is Sr Director, Business Analytics at Oracle Corporation.   As a member of Oracle’s BI Global Business Unit. Joe has spent over 20 years focused on selling, marketing and implementing business intelligence, enterprise performance management and information portals at Oracle, Viador, Autonomy and Apple. Joe was part of the mergers and acquisitions team that brought IRI Software (now the Oracle OLAP Option) to Oracle, and has been a key part of the integration teams unifying the BI components of Peoplesoft, Siebel, and Hyperion into the Oracle Business Intelligence portfolio of offerings, and was a key member of the team that launched Oracle Project Analytics.  Joe has discussed with and presented to thousands of customers, prospects and partners on business intelligence, including events with the OAUG, IOUG, The Economist, TDWI, CIO Magazine, Information Week, CFO.com and keynoting the Computerworld Business Intelligence Perspectives event.
