Sam Clark, Information Technology Director, Department of Public Safety, State of Utah
Sam Clark is the Information Technology Director at the Department of Public Safety with the State of Utah. He has been involved with software development over the past 20 years -- from mainframe and minicomputers to the desktop, web and mobile. He recently managed the Informix to Oracle Exadata Database Conversion project at the Department of Public Safety and is now working with his team to migrate Public Safety's Weblogic, Oracle Service Bus, and Exadata platforms to an Oracle Cloud at Customer environment. When not at work, Sam can be found spending time at home with his sweet wife and five children and their dog, cat, six goats, and 22 chickens. In his spare time, he enjoys dabbling in iOS development and brushing up on Spanish.
Charles Kim, Founder and CEO of Viscosity North America
Charles is the Founder and CEO of Viscosity North America, a highly specialized niche consulting organization comprised of industry experts in Oracle RAC, Oracle Cloud, Virtualization and Exadata. Charles often sits on the panel of Oracle experts at VMware World and Oracle OpenWorld for virtualization and Linux. Charles was one of the founding members of the virtualization SIG that launched in 2011 at Oracle OpenWorld. Charles is the current president of the IOUG Cloud SIG.Charles holds certifications in Oracle, VMware, Red Hat Linux, and Microsoft and has over 27 years of Oracle experience on mission and business critical databases.
William Hardie, Vice President Oracle Database Product Management, Oracle
William Hardie is responsible for Oracle Database product management, focusing on growing Oracle’s business in the global database, data warehousing, and embedded database markets. His area of expertise includes Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle In-Memory Database Cache, Oracle Advanced Compression, and other key Oracle Database options.
Hardie has been in IT for more than 25 years and has specialized in relational database technologies for more than 20 years. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, he has worked with Oracle Database since Release 5.
