    Responsible to own the full-life software development lifecycle (SDLC) of application and report development. Assist in gathering initial requirements, analysis and design, development, testing and documentation, and provide support after the deployment of applications and reports. Collaborate in designing and maintaining standards with the user interface and report presentation.



    • Create applications and reports to integrate and automate education and management processes for schools and district level departments.
    • Assist in data analysis to help identify areas of improvement.
    • Attend meetings as required to collaborate with other departments.
    • Work with local and state entities in data reporting as needed.
    • Assist in maintaining the Student Information System as needed.
    • As a Senior level programmer, mentor and train as needed.
    • Report to the Chief Technical Officer on timelines and project updates.



    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 3 years related experience in applications programming and development.
    • Proficiency in Oracle Application Express (APEX) development tools.
    • Proficiency in creating database models/structures for OLAP and OLTP data systems.
    • Proficiency in Relational database, SQL and PL/SQL
    • Database and application development experience using packages, procedures, pipeline functions, materialized views, bulk collection, etc.
    • Experience using IDE program such as Toad, SQL Developer or SQLPlus.
    • Experience using statistical tools such as R is a plus.
    • Web based application development background including Javascript, JQuery, JSON, CSS, HTML.
    • Utilize PL/SQL stored procedures and functions within packages, triggers and libraries.
    • Ability to leverage Dynamic SQL, ref-cursors, bulk collection, explain plans, materialized views, and performance tuning as needed.
    • Written and verbal communications skills with employees, management, and local and state entities.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, maintain an attention to detail and accuracy, while working in a team or group environment.



    The job occasionally requires light physical exertion including walking, standing, motor vehicle operation and other forms of light physical activity. Work is carried out in an  greeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions and little or no unpleasant elements.

    Job Description

    This position supports a department or function by performing assigned tasks or assisting with assigned projects, allowing the intern to gain an understanding of the business function.

    Essential Job Duties

    ·         1. Participates and is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department / facility. Works with the members of the team to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals.

    ·         2. Attends team / department meetings and actively participate / take on opportunities to share knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the meeting.

    Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Develop Oracle PL/SQL ETL to support data warehouse and datamarts
    • Work with product and technical teams to understand the business requirements and build scalable and sustainable enterprise reporting solutions
    • Demonstrate through proof of concepts and present them to stakeholders. Formulate and provide recommendations. Promote Self-Service BI
    • Create conceptual and technical BI reporting documents
    • Mentor, develop and train team members and end users
    • Assist in code deployment and new client system implementations, including data transfer and user administration
    • Limited travel to other location to train and demonstrate
    • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan
    • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation


    • Experience developing product/solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. MS SQL Server experience helpful.
    • Knowledge of dimensional modelling and experience building reports in MicroStrategy (9.3.1 or above) or any other BI reporting tool
    • Experience working with large data
    • Extensive knowledge in relational database design
    • Strong healthcare analysis background and experience preferred
    • 3+ years of SQL, PL/SQL, BI, SSRS and/or other report writing experience is required
    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred
    • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills

    POSITION: Computer Specialist 

    PURPOSE: Performs a variety of working level professional technical support duties as needed to analyze, program and maintain county-wide information, telecommunication and data processing operations of the County. 


    Web Programming: 

    • Front-end web page development (HTML, Java, JavaScript, JQuery, Dreamweaver)
    • Back-end development experience (PHP, Java, .net, PL/SQL)

    Systems Administration 

    • Troubleshoot problems with: servers, workstations, peripherals, tablets, audio/visual, and security devices
    • Unix, Linux, Windows, experience
    • Support end users with system functionality

    Database Administration and Software Development: 

    • Performs software programming along with other software development lifecycle activities (requirements - design, test, document, work with others, and knowledge of C language)
    • Oracle experience a plus
    • ArcGIS server administration/development a plus


    • Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, communication technology, electronics, data management or related field; AND
    • Two (2) years of responsible experience performing above and related duties; specific experience computer programming and software management is preferred; OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience
