Oracler Data Modeler, a module in SQL Developer, is a graphical data modeling tool that facilitates and enhances communication between data architects, database administrators, application developers and users. It simplifies the data modeling development process itself. Using Data Modeler users can create, browse and edit, logical, relational, physical, multi-dimensional, and data type models. It can generate DDL scripts from models, which improves productivity and promotes the use of standards.

Emerson Borsato will talk about the Data Modeler product, the application of Data Modeler in today's software development, including database design considerations with current development technologies (e.g. Hibernate and .net Entity Framework) followed by a small application sample.

Emerson Borsato has a bachelor degree in Computer Science (1997), Master Degree in Applied Informatics in Healthcare (2000) and Doctoral Degree in Medical Informatics (2005). Emerson has worked with Intermountain Healthcare since 2007 with the Clinical Knowledge Repository and Authoring Tools design and development. Areas of interest are Web XML Authoring, Semantic Web, Java development. Other areas of interest include aviation.
