DBA SIG: Oracle Enterprise Manager

Oracle Enterprise Manager is an extremely useful tool for the DBA to manage his/her databases. The Grid Control version is very useful for managing multiple databases from a single utility. However, installation, upgrading and tuning can be a challenge. In this SIG session we will be talking about OEM 11g installation/upgrade, changes from 10g, and 11g issues. We will also talk about tuning OEM itself.

Craig D. McKay has a Bachelor's in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Information Technology. He is an Oracle DBA for the Defense Information System Agency (DISA). He works to support both RAC and non-RAC databases, versions 10.2.0.5 to 11gR2. During the last few years he helped implement grid control throughout his organization and helps maintain the hundreds of agents currently installed. He is currently working to implement service desk monitoring using OEM grid control to feed database alerts to TIVOLI.
