Oracle and ETL: Getting starting with Oracle Warehouse Builder and an introduction to the Oracle Data Integration roadmap

The UTOUG BI & Data Warehousing SIG is now partnering with IOUG, BIWA SIG and ODTUG to form a Regional BI User Group. What this means is we now have more resources for finding presenters and a larger membership base to network with--more info on Regional BI User Groups on IOUG's site at:

Our first meeting of this new group will be on November 10th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Officers Club at the University of Utah (150 South Fort Douglas Boulevard). Event details below.

Abstracts:

Oracle and ETL: Getting starting with Oracle Warehouse Builder and an introduction to the Oracle Data Integration roadmap

This session will focus primarily on getting started with ETL tools that are included with your Oracle Database license, namely Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB). You will gain a basic understanding of why you might use OWB and how to get started with the tool. The session will end with a brief discussion of Oracle's Data Integration roadmap including the relationships between Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Data Integrator and GoldenGate.

Speaker Information

Bryan Wise is a Business Intelligence Solution Specialist for Oracle's Public Sector division helping customers find secure, innovative ways to utilize their existing data and run their organizations more efficiently.

John Harper lives with his wife of 19½ years in Northern Utah County. They have one adopted daughter who they cherish and thoroughly spoil. He has 11 years of Oracle and 2½ years of MSSQL database experience in administration, schema design, PL/SQL, and Information Quality. He currently works for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as their lead and senior information quality engineer.
